The City of Palm Coast’s Public Works department is delighted to bring its 6th Annual Touch-a-Truck event back to Central Park in Town Center on Saturday, May 16 – a prelude to American Public Works Association’s National Public Works Week, which is celebrated from May 17-23 this year.
The week, founded in 1960, and declared via proclamation by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, has been recognized annually at the national level during the third week of May ever since – growing in popularity and spawning events across the country among the 30,000+ members of the APWA. This year will mark the 6th outing of Palm Coast’s annual Touch-a-Truck event, which offers the chance for attendees to get up close and personal with work vehicles and machinery of all shapes, sizes, and modalities.
A special horn-free hour for those with sensory sensibilities will take place from 10-11am. Convenient parking will be available along Central Ave and City Place, while Park Street, and Lake Ave will be closed as they will be utilized for the event.
