TO COMMEMORATE THIS HISTORIC MOMENT, THE DIOCESE OF ST. AUGUSTINE INVITES YOU 460TH FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION

The day features Historic Florida Militia reenactment of the landing, a solemn Mass at the Rustic Altar with Bishop Erik Pohlmeier, a grand procession, and a reenactment of the first shared meal between Spaniards and Timucuans.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10 a.m. Reenactment of Menéndez’s landing at Mission Nombre de Dios (free admission & parking)
Following the reenactment, Catholic Mass at the Rustic Altar (bring a folding chair)
12 p.m. Procession from the Mission to the Fountain of Youth (regular admission)
1 p.m. Reenactment of the first Thanksgiving meal at the Fountain of Youth (regular admission)
1 to 5 p.m. Spanish encampment & weapons demonstrations at the Fountain of Youth (regular admission)

Free admission and parking at Mission Nombre de Dios; regular rates apply at the Fountain of Youth.
