Stretch out the muscles and calm the soul with a side of silly at Ancient City Brewing’s Goat Yoga, taking place just before the annual Boos and Brews 5k Race and 1-mile Fun Run.
“Yoga and goats, what’s not to love?” asks Britta Messler, General Manager at Ancient City Brewing. “We’ve hosted goat yoga here at the Brewery many times over the years, and it’s always one of our most popular events. This year, we’re pairing it with the Boos and Brews 5k. It’s a great way for our athletes to get mentally and physically loose before they attack their run.” Goat Yoga with Zen Hooves features a flock of frolicking baby and pygmy goats that are curious and friendly.
They roam throughout the fenced yard while a certified local instructor leads the participants through an hour- long yoga flow. Downward dogs are a prime time for goats to climb over the yogi’s backs, and there are plenty of photo ops. The goats hang around after the session for guests to cuddle, take selfies, and try advanced yoga positions. The class is open to all ages and experience levels. Branded goat yoga merchandise is available for purchase, and each participant 21 years and older receives one free Ancient City Brewing draft beer.
