National Society Daughters of the American Revolution: Constitution Day - Annual Bells Across America

The Maria Jefferson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution join with organizations around the country to celebrate the 236th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution.

Bells Across America is an annual celebration of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. Participants gather to ring bells, much as the church bells of Philadelphia rang out when the U.S. Constitution was first signed at 4 pm on September 17, 1787.

The public is invited to join the local members of the organization as they gather at the Gazebo in the Plaza de la Constitución. Bells and cannons will be heard across the country — and in St. Augustine — in celebration of the Constitution.

Bring a bell and join in the celebration!


This event kicks off Constitution Week, which is celebrated from September 17 through September 23, 2023.
