St. Johns CARES

St. Johns CARES (formerly JCP CARES) was founded by Kathy Bravo in June of 2007 with only a handful of people in Julington Creek Plantation. Over the years our volunteer and donor base has grown to other neighborhoods and areas of St. Johns County.

Through our partner non-profit organizations serving our target populations of the Elderly, Veterans, Homeless, Abused, Children and Animals, assistance is provided to those in need through donations and time.

St. Johns CARES has recognized that a disparity exists among families living in our county. Most people are not aware that state and federal funding is based on per capita income. St. Johns County is one of the wealthiest counties in Florida, due in large part to the per capita income in the northern part of the county. This does not reflect the large percentage of families in other parts of the county living below or near the national poverty level.
