Step inside one of St. Augustine’s most iconic landmarks — Flagler College, the former Hotel Ponce de Leon — and experience more than 130 years of history, art, and architectural splendor. Guided by knowledgeable student tour leaders, our historic tours bring to life the stories, people, and craftsmanship that shaped this National Historic Landmark.
Originally opened in 1888 as the opulent Hotel Ponce de Leon, this architectural masterpiece was envisioned by industrialist Henry M. Flagler as the crown jewel of Florida’s Gilded Age resorts. Today, it serves as both an active college campus and a living historic site.
Historic Tours of Flagler College focus on the building’s public and ceremonial spaces, taking place exclusively on the ground floor of the former hotel. The tour does not include access to current student residence halls or dorm rooms.
